The group has conducted research in the area of Sexually Transmitted Infections and HIV, participation in regional, national and international congresses through poster and oral theme. The papers presented received awards at regional and national congresses. The scientific production of the Research Group led to the participation of undergraduate medical students through Scientific Initiation and extension project. This group based in the Department of Life Sciences of the State University of Bahia (DCV – Campus1) has been developing research activities in the areas of food sciences and nutrition.  In the field of food sciences, the group has been developing analytical methodologies, automated or not, alternatives to official methodologies, used to control food quality, with the objective of increasing analytical productivity, decreasing the generation of chemical residues in addition to increasing the  accuracy and precision.  These researches are being carried out in collaboration with the Chemical Analysis Systems and Processes Development Group of the Department of Exact and Earth Sciences.  The determination of the composition of regional foods has contributed data for the increase of databases and tables of composition of regional foods, in addition to the search for new regional food alternatives as a contribution to food security.
